CHINESE NEW YEAR

YEAR OF THE RABBIT

2011

30th January, 2011 - Painting demonstrations in the Chinese Garden of Friendship

The Australian Chinese Painting Society had a successful event at the Chinese Garden of Friendship on the 30th January for the Chinese New Year Festival 2011. Seven members of the society painted an estimated 207 Zodiac paintings live and gave them free to the public. The artists, on average, painted a Zodiac painting approximately every 2.7 min.

The table compares the number of the zodiac signs painted this year and last year and shows an unusually high number of Rabbit requests.

The public was a mixture of both tourists and local Sydney residents, and a mixture of all ages, with many children.

The Chinese Garden of Friendship is very pleased with the event and they look forward to working with our society in future events at their venue.

We would like to thank all our audience and the Chinese Garden of Friendship.
