2.00 pm at Will’s Quills. Demonstrators:
Ms Tan, Deputy Principal, Australian College of Chinese Art , on Gong Bi painting.
Andrew Lo : How to use  book binder’s tape in Chinese painting. Please bring your work for Show and Tell.

New category of membership

Members at the April meeting had unanimously supported the Committee’s recommendation  to create a new category of membership – Family Membership.   A single payment of  $40 will cover  the membership of 4  family members. This is a great opportunity for your parents, spouse, children, siblings to join our  Society to share your passion in Chinese art!

Image of your paintings

Please bring two paintings or the images of two paintings to the next meeting. Images of the paintings will be included in an album to be used to  promote our Society and also to negotiate  for  any future exhibitions. Album at a preliminary stage, prepared by Andrew, is available for viewing at the next meeting.

How big should I paint?

If you are painting for  exhibitions, the recommended size of a painting is 200 cm perimeter or less, which is the size measured around  the frame. This is the size acceptable by  Easter Show and by most of the major Exhibitions.

Demonstration Stall at Easter Show  - 12th April,  a huge success!

People were fascinated with Andrew’s techniques and the Children’s workshop was unexpectedly popular. Andrew, Carole, Alice and Daisy were flat out from  9;30 am to 5;30 pm. By the end of the day, they were all suffering of  sore backs from bending down so much.

A “Thank you” letter has been  received from Tara Riches, Events Coordinator at Easter Show to thank us for our contributions and also inviting us to participate again at next year’s  Easter Show.

We thank Mirra for lending 20 painting brushes for this event.

Photos of the Easter Show event are available on Society’s website
