Items of Interest
- Visit to the "Mountains and Streams" Exhibition at AGNSW
Andrew Lo, Carole Burns, Jacky Jones, Peter Leung, Anne Macpherson,
Jenny Roxburgh, Daisy Hsu , Christine Winterbothom and her friend
Angela participated in this visit. We had a simple lunch at the Gallery
CAFE, joined the conducted tour by a Gallery guide, supplemented by
Daisy, Andrew and Peter. Daisy also handed out some Art Gallery notes
on the background of Chinese landscape paintings. After the tour we
all sat down and watched the AG video made specifically for the exhibition.
Many paintings were by highly regarded painters such as Ba Da Shan
Ren; Wang Gai who was the author of the most influential instructional
manual on painting - the Mustard seed garden manual of painting; Wu
Zhen who was the author of a bamboo painting manual. We had also viewed
a long scroll by a Qing dynasty painter Wang Yuanqi , the painting
was covered with seals of four Qing dynasty emperors, talking about
the proof of authenticity! This is the third visit by Peter Leung
and Andrew wants to go back again - an exhibition well worth the visit.
- Opportunity to exhibit your work- Norma Gall has kindly checked out
this restaurant, no commission or hire fees to be paid. Speak to Norma
or "The Food Scene", Shop 24, Cherrybrook Village Shopping
Centre, Tel: 9875 4689 directly.
- ACPS group exhibition at the FINK Café in Willoughby in June-
all details to be discussed at the meeting.
- It has been decided at our last meeting, that we'll give the Ryde
and Parramatta exhibitions "another go" in 2008 - BUT, we
do need your support i.e. your participation
..the
committee is encouraging you to start thinking about and painting of
course for these upcoming exhibitions.
Hopefully, we will see you all at the next meeting
Happy painting and kind regards and
