Dear Members
What a wonderful demonstration by Larry Lau at our last meeting - photos are on our webpage and again we had a big turnout. We would like to organise a workshop with Larry. Please let me know who would be interested, date still to be confirmed.

We had a great workshop on how to paint carps with Stuart Leung on April 29th.


Please send any nominations for a new committee or suggestions for election procedures for our Annual General Meeting in August to our Secretary, Daisy Hsu.


Our next meeting will take place on:
Saturday, June 2nd 2007 at 2.15pm at Will's Quills

We will start with our Committee meeting - as usual, everybody is welcome - then follow on with the General meeting.

  • Demonstration by Franz Cheung, President of the Oriental Calligraphy Society: painting on fans and the history of this art form
  • And again our "Show and Tell" session - please bring your latest creations

  • Andrew Lo will talk at the next meeting of the Oriental Calligraphy Society about promoting the understanding and appreciation of the aesthetics of calligraphy as an art form and the close relationship between calligraphy and painting

  • The Glenrose Cafe is willing to take paintings on consignments - 15% commission - no other charges but help in hanging the artwork. The owner of the Cafe (Abraham) to decide which paintings are suitable for hanging.

  • On April 11th, Mirra Hainsworth was invited to give a talk at the Luncheon meeting by the Australia-China Friendship Society.


Exhibition

  • The Chatswood Cultural Centre will hold an exhibition of Chinese paintings by
    Ms Tsu-Sheng Lee & her student Ms Virginia Wong

    12th - 22nd May 2007, 10-4 ( 1- 1:30 lunch break), closed on Sunday
    Official opening: Saturday 12th of May, 11.00 am
