Dear Members
Our next meeting will take place on:
Saturday 2nd December 2006 at 2.30pm at Will's Quills
It's our Xmas Party, so everybody needs to bring a small plate
This a chance to catch up - our new members are encouraged to bring some
of their work for us to see.
Please note, there will not be a painting session in January.
Dates to put in your diaries:
- Yum Cha on Saturday, November 11th 2006, please contact Maggie
( Tel: 9878 1530) regarding details and to reserve your seat
- The official launch of our exhibition at the Liverpool Hospital will
be:
Tuesday 12th of December 2006 at 11.00am
It would be nice to see everybody there, so please make an effort.
Items of Interest
- There are still outstanding membership fees ($40.00) please send your
cheque to the Secretary ACPS, 5 Mulley Place, Belrose NSW 2085- if the
fees are not paid by the end of 2006, we have to assume you're no longer
interested and cease to send newsletters.
- Ryde Art Awards: 1st Prize Evelyne Zuercher Hadfield, Mirra Hainsworth
a Highly Commended and Cheryl Richardson a Commended.
- Parramatta Art Awards: Congratulations to Maggie de Courcy for winning
1st Prize in the Small Section and a Highly Commended in the Large Section
- Free Calligraphy Lessons
Mr Jiang, principal of the College of Chinese Painting and Calligraphy,
is offering free Calligraphy lessons to our members who are non-Chinese
speakers. Lessons will be based on his recently published book on Chinese
Calligraphy (our Library has a copy). Location of the classes will be
in Chatswood. Date, time & venue to be announced later. Expression

- Mr Ma Nai Leong, a member of ACPS and Chinese painting teacher, has
a few of his paintings hanging at the Kam Foo Restaurant. A patron of
the restaurant loved the paintings so much, he tracked Mr Ma down and
commission him for a painting of horses at a substantial sum. Congratulations,
Mr Ma!

- Chinese Brush Painting- Australian Sentiment, portraits & landscapes
By the internationally renowned Chinese artist - ?? Wen Quan, now residing
in Australia.Wen Quan has won many awards internationally and has been
listed in the Book of Famous Artists in the World and the Book of Outstanding
People in the World.
